Poor Chia

As you can see, Chia has had a bit of an accident.  Apparently, while Sport, the big dog and I were away at a baseball tournament, Chia was hit by a tractor and had both front legs broken off.  Now, I'm a little unsure as to how this can happen, as to my knowledge he didn't do a lot of scampering into traffic.  (Well, he certainly won't now, thats for sure.)  Someone (tractor driver?) did prop him up with a flower pot and replace his bottle to spare Sport the trauma.  Unfortunately, his days are now very numbered, as when he's watered, the liquid just runs out his front leg stumps.  So sad.

Concrete

Here is the lovely new sidewalk, driveway approaches and gutters with the forms all stripped away.

Sidewalk.  Those are the last of the forms stacked on the right.

Caser thinks the new sidewalk is just fabulous.  We should have put his paw print in the corner.

This is a concrete cutter.  If, for example, the finishers didn't put a grout line where they needed one, they can cut it in with this contraption.  To tell you the truth, I'm not sure what else they need to cut on this job.....  Obviously it's a good thing I'm not running the crew.

Curb and gutter.  See the nice clean line between the old and new concrete?  That's from the saw cut I showed you a few days ago.  The asphalt still needs to be patched there on the right against the gutter pan.  It's always something, isn't it?

Lastly, the whole job looking from the neighbors.
